Three super successful men and learnings

Sachin Tendulkar, Amir Khan and A. R. Rahman - Every time I watch these there super successful legends, I notice three common traits:

Child like enthusiasm,
Profound love for work
Innocence and simplicity even in chaos

These must be important keys for success.

What is amazing is how these men have managed to maintain these traits over so many years of professional life, and every time can exhibit it, use it to their advantage. These are good lessons for me.

Let us say I am a software engineer, my day to day job is to find issues in code and fix them for a better experience of the customer. Or may be to come up with innovative solutions that a customer will find useful and save resources in the world of automation. How do I maintain same level of enthusiasm of finding or fixing a bug after so many years of programming? How do I go about thinking of a solution as if I am the only one who can solve the customer's problem best possible way - year after year, days after days of doing the same job ?

I have to be in love with every aspect of software engineering. I see that is the only way. That is my lesson - that is probably the easiest way to remain successful.

On the contrary, the lessons I learn from somebody like Himesh Reshammiya is - don't ever overestimate yourself. Never be proud that you are beyond your profession. One is limited by own powers, and at some point or other you are bound to run out of steam. The key to keep going is to find that self motivation to fall back in love with your work, once again - and to submit to that love instead of trying to conquer it.

What a simple way to live in harmony !

Thanks for those lessons Mr Tendulkar, Mr Khan and Mr Rahman - keep inspiring us...

Very nice article Bijaya!
These 3 points you mentioned, are really important. All of them are creative&great mind in their own way. I personally think, anyone as human has limited capacity but with being has unlimited power. When any human being achieve success, directly or indirectly he has been using being/sub consciousness capability.
Take example of SachineT.
When any fast bowler bowls with 140KM/H or spinner spins the ball, any batsman doesn't get chance to think what kind of stroke he is going to play. The bowl will hit the stump before his mind think. When player like Sachin plays, he doesn't think at all.All actions he does are spontaneous and subconscious. In one of his interview, he revealed a secret, he always visualizes the strokes,or end result, the way he is going to bat, which makes this subconscious act. When this habit is developed, all actions become subconscious which make him unique.
A R. Rahman is highly spiritual guy. Most of his tunes/composition got created when he is in sleep or in relaxed state. During sleep only our subconscious mind is active. As per him, all things are created by GOD. As per advance science,Ideas/creative things are bought into our mind. Mind can not generate ideas. Creativity is always beyond mind. Mind can only repeat things which are stored in memory.

As per me, success is the label given by society. We always focus on outer things and miss out inner things which are major reason for so called Success. Any successful person, in any field has achieved mastery directly or indirectly, knowingly or unknowingly on inner mind process.Success is just reaction to that event.
You have used statement "I have to be in love with every aspect of software engineering." Have to be , have not to be are just planned thinking in order to be successful, for getting recognition or for others approval. As long as it doesn't come from within in the form of feeling, we can't love it in true sense.

Three super Successful men as mentioned by Bijayalaxmi indeed are created in their own way of desire and gifted by God.There is no doubt these people have achieved top in their field second to non as god's gift. Some people born with specific job and they achieve and get success. What Mr Hemant said annalyising the detais of Sachin Tendulkar/Amirkhan/A R Rahman and service of software Engineer aim and duty as said not less than of their talents.Success is just a reaction,a proud for us.

Thanks Hemant and Rachana for your insightful comments.

I believe if we have to achieve harmony in everyday life, we have to nurture these kind of traits in our lives - irrespective of whether you are thinking of success or not. Success will come as and when as a reaction to your hard work.

As Rachana mentioned, may be they are more gifted, and that has contributed to their success as well. But they have done the hard work too, and have maintained the level of dedication.

Love is hard work too and can surprise us as we rediscover at different stages in life. It can develop, some times very slowly. But I think one has to have a conducive mind to let it grow, let it fill life with its power. For example, I may not be in love with my work today, but if I decide to do it anyway, I can probably nurture the love for it so that life can be lived effortlessly. And there might be a point when I realize that even the nurturing is falling short - that is probably a signal to change profession.
