Politics, Business: It is all about money honey !

Two widely different things kept me awake till late last night.

Microsoft has bid to buy the internet giant Yahoo ...

...Yes, if you have not read about it yet, check out these links.

* A detailed analysis form zdnet perspective.
* A news on yahoo biz.
* Another news piece from news.com .

Now come to think of it, Google has been trying very hard to be the numero uno company in everything it touches (wait for the gPhone with Linux OS to come out, to understand fully the impact of what I am trying to say). And rightly so, it is one of the companies I admire and adore as well...just like numerous techies all around the world.

But why does it find it hard to digest the Microsoft fight back ? I mean, Microsoft wants to retain its number one position, and it has every right to do so. I don't think how google can stop this deal by throwing in the 'here comes microsoft to monopolize', ages old trick used many times against Microsoft.

IMO (In my opinion - of course everything in this blog is my opinion and has nothing to do with any companies or people), it should be a very good deal for yahoo, and will work out best against google to stop it from taking over the internet single handedly (now who is trying to monopolize the online advertising market).

Google, from an admirer's point of view, looks all set to tackle the competition and might as well emerge as the toughest competitor to microsoft yet, ever! And Google, of all, should not worried about it at all...

Let the show begin ! :)

Raj Thackeray tries to re-ignite the same boring (yawn yawn ...) topic

Now coming to the second topic of this morning, it concerns me as somebody staying in Pune. I have no grudge against or anything to do with Maharashtra NavaNirman Sena, and I understand little of the politics going on in this state.

But it is simply disheartening to imagine that he seems to be using some shoddy gimmicks to gain popularity. Come on Raj, you are a dashing young politician, you have better things to do in life like think about the next generation of India, think about our growing importance in the international arena and how you could take it forward ... why do you have to resort to these , or even these kind of things ?

If you don't dare to take the new approach to politics, who will ?
Why can't you focus on progress, work, economy or national security ?
Why do you have to resort to the type of the methods adopted when you were a kid?

Move ahead, look ahead should be the mantra of today's young politicians... we want to take the country forward, and not backwards.

What should youths like us expect from a supposedly-capable-of-great-things-leader like you?

As politician Raj Thakare is trying to exploit the mentality of simple Marathi person. Whatever he did, is absolutely violent and nonsense act. But why he is able to convince some marathi people?.
Anyone comes from any state to Maharastra, but ever bother to respect maharastrian culture. Many successful film actors have been settled in Mumbai with their parents for more than 4o years, but they do not want to learn simple Marathi language and have pride that they do not know marathi still at peak of success. If they make comment like we love maharastra, then doesn't it imply to adopt Marathi basic language and respect it. Every simple Marathi person who is conditioned as per society from childhood has little bit grudge about the same thing.
People like Raj T. got chance to use this kind of emotion and exploite it for his own vasted interest. Here we can take example of Lalu yadav who only fill up Bihari people in Railway dept or etc but point is not to compare negativity along with more or less nagativity.
For every act, their is always oposite reaction.Reality does not exist without contradiction.

I think to respect a culture, you don't need to learn the language. Most of the world appreciates Japanese culture without knowing a bit of Japanese. To love maharasthra should not mean to learn Marathi language, in my opinion.

I would say the ones who live in Maharasthra without hurting anybody, pay taxes, obey citizenship related rules: respect Maharasthra. Whether to learn a language or not should be an individual choice and should not be imposed or a precondition. Why, even many people whose mother tongue is Marathi, prefer to talk
in English among themselves, and I don't think they dislike Maharasthra.

I think the tendency of people to find something to blame is what is exploited by politicians in general. To blame poor condition of Mumbai on north indians, or whomsoever to that matter is utter non-sense, everybody staying in Mumbai is responsible for it.

And why Amitabh Bachhan by the way ? He could have chosen to use some other random name ? He knew that this name will create the most publicity, and stir passion in everybody ...

hmmm ... we should learn to disscociate ourselves from satisfying hidden motives, and everybody needs to take a non-emotional stand when it comes to civilian security, be it AB's or Raj T's.

Hmm. To respect culture, language might be not needed to learn, but to adopt the culture one should at-least know it at basic level. The point here is that, it’s perfectly fine if one does not want to adopt the culture but at least one should not underestimate the language of any state where he/she has been living.

Still one who has national identity or regional identity can not be expelled out from any state depending on the condition whether he/she knows Marathi/local language.

If we consider the people who came to Mumbai from U.P or Bihar, how many of them are paying taxes? Only Salaried people or some celebrities pay the taxes to Government which is inevitable for them as they can not avoid it though they want. Still some celebrities buy farms and show the losses and save income tax. More than 70% people from (especially UP and Bihar) come to Mumbai for their basic needs. A person who sells Wada-pav or Panipuri at some prime location in Mumbai can save 3-4k per day (avg 10-12 Lacs Savings) which even some good skilled professional cannot. Are they really giving taxes to Government? (Definitely Not).

I think every city has certain limit to give employment, to gives shelter. Why the State like UP which has given us most of prime-minister is not able to reproduce employments? If every government gives the equal opportunities in every state, why people will leave their native state and migrates for basic needs?
We can not say that it’s everybody’s responsibility at same moment to reduce poverty. Because everyone is not educated, everyone is not at same level in financial, emotional, practical aspects. Everyone thinks about his family first and then about the country. If one gets employment in Mumbai, he asks his relatives, friends to come to Mumbai for getting job. He never thinks that we have been crossing the limit which this city can sustain.
Blame game is always there from history to future.

I am not in favor of Raj T. By any chance. But to discuss " why Amitabh Bacchan only?" some fact needs to be put forth
1. Amar Singh who is politician in UP is trying to play politics in Mumbai with help of Amitabh Bacchan which could not be tolerated by any local politician in Maharastra (Raj T was first to express that).
2. And some comments from Jaya Bacchan to Raj T. Otherwise Raj T is popular in Maharashtra so he does not need publicity by Amitabh name

That’s true. I completely agree with it.

An interesting piece.
